Things Respawn did not address (as always)

You aren't wrong @hayhor but this is one of those things, I have to say, I think game companies are going to have to start dealing with and not necessarily going by majority opinion.

For decades now, the meter is being pushed by players who want guns to do less and less damage, because they think more and more it's the fault of the weapons and not their own skill.  To the point, by the way, that players start arguing that guns that do less damage require more skill to use.

Which is absurd and absolutely crack up level funny.

Skill...is playing the game that you are playing well.  It has nothing to do with guns doing more or less damage.  It is not aiming, it is not whatever it is this insane argument has reduced it to.  Skill is doing whatever it is that a game is meant to do well, and that's how you win.

But back to guns.  If you died because you got shot by 1 bullet or a thousand, you died.  The only difference is a thousand bullets to kill someone is just at a level of dumb which, at that point, you might as well make a weapon that is a water pistol, just so you can keep your immersion accurate.  And let's not pretend immersion doesn't matter in a video game, because otherwise there'd be no themes to design (see Fortnite for complete stupid and lack of themes, where banana dude can fight cat head dude with a plunger firing grapple gun).  

We're pretty much almost there with Apex.  This is a bit beyond the Mastiff too OP conversation.  The Mastiff may be too OP, the Mastiff may not be.  But overall, what are guns even in Apex?  What are they even in Halo?  What are they, gasp, in Call of Duty, where you look like a soldier, but you regenerate bullet wounds and might as well have a space armor shield for your resilience?

Not that I want a real life simulator, but gun games are so off, that I am no longer surprised the US military has to actually untrain people out of video game mentality when they join the service.  It'd be like pilots having to be trained out of flying like Star Wars or drivers having to be trained out of driving like GTA (neither of which is necessary, so that tells you how bad it is with shooters).
