This is getting frustrating

Can someone please explain to me how you get the ability to do the acrobatic maneuvers and super high jumps that I see.  I was fighting a player just now (a bloodhound) that did a high jump and shot at me while in the air.

I've seen people jump diagonally, do flips, jump back and forth in a v shape as if they were bouncing, and some even move like in the shape of a rectangle while in the air before they land.

It's frustrating because after I unlocked revenant in the challenge every lobby I get has like 20,000 kills, and the irony is when I'm in the Tokyo lobby it is a majority switch players and they are all doing these acrobatics.

Do you need to use the gyroscope controls in some way and manipulate them to do these moves?  I know these aren't PC players so there has to be some secret to this.  It's just frustrating when all you can do is jump and slide and everyone else moves three times as fast and can jump higher, do summersaults and stuff and can even shoot while doing it.

Can someone direct me to maybe a YouTube video that teaches this or explain to me the button combinations or tilts of the gyroscope to do this stuff?  It seems like in theory just flipping the controller while the gyroscope is on should allow you to flip with enough sensitivity,  so could my sensitivity be what is holding me back?

I miss the lobbies I was playing before unlocking revenant, lol.  Anyway,  I appreciate any help you all can give me, thanks.

  • @AymCTL Are you playing mixtape? If you are you have PC players who can do things other players cannot. Plus they have like 20 times the fps you have. I cannot imagine how far behind you are.
  • I really wish that Respawn would make some kind of statements about 1) forced crossplay in mixtape and 2) the Steam Cfg situation that PC controller players are exploiting.

Most of the "jumping high" stuff that you see can be executed on controller on console, it's just a matter if putting in the time practicing the techs.  I can't be bothered, but they are available to all.  If you're curious, you can start by looking up tutorials on mantle jumping, supergliding, and fatigue wall-bouncing.

I don't have anything to say about gyro, but I'd imagine it could help some with advanced controller tech, since much of it (i.e. mantle jumping) depends on how quickly one can look up and down.  The weird strafing stuff you're seeing is only possible on controller by exploiting Steam Cfg files to make the controller send WASD input to the game.

I agree that it's feels unfair to play against all of this extra movement tech in our console mixtape lobbies.  It is really fun, though, when you 1v1 someone doing that stuff and kill them anyway because so many of them cannot do it all and actually aim well at the same time.  A well-considered PK shot can often send them back to the spawn room.  It's one of the very few times that I will t-bag players.

@pandareno1999 Thank you for giving me the names of those techniques, I will look them up on YouTube tonight and try to get some tutorials. Maybe some practice in the firing range on what I learn will help.

I heard some were manipulating files too, that could be what some of it is.

I agree in mixtape it is fun when you can get one over on them. I did this once when one had his back to me and I took him out with a triple take, he chased me when I respawned though, lol.

@hayhor Yeah, team deathmatch and trios, it is worse on tdm because there is faster players, I wish they didn't combine PC players in tdm or maybe if they even it out more it would be better.

You're welcome!  You can find good routines for using the range to learn this stuff, just gotta separate the wheat from the chaff a bit on YT.

My favorite was a guy who tried breaking my ankles but wasn't good enough at shooting while doing it, so I just waited a moment for him to pass by my reticle and one-popped him with a PK since I'd already hit him for a bit when the fight started.
