Thoughts on being able to prone?

I just wanted to see what some peoples thoughts were on being able to fully lay down on the ground for a more immersed experience in the game and allow for people to take more cover in areas with only small amounts of cover.

Personally I've been thinking about this for a while now and would like to see it in game, maybe as a part of a LTM where it gets included, ya know, just to see how it could affect the game. Good or bad.

Feel like being able to fully lay down would help being spotted from miles away because of how lighting works that tends to make you stand out from afar. And it could lead to some nice Chernobyl plays (That one COD MW mission) along with other fun stuff.

@iBlockHead Would each character lie down in their own way...?

And if so, would Mirage do, ya know, that pose?

No but I could see that, would take some extra work but I feel it would be worth it so that everyone could have more long range fights like they want plus the feeling up sneaking up behind another Legend, T-Bagging and then eliminating them would be amazing.

@iBlockHead I've often thought of this.
But Gibby prone next to say Wraith?
I mean the hit box difference in each character is bad enough.
You'd see Gibby from a mile off, but the likes of Octane would be a spec on the horizon.

Normally you can see both easily through an outline as bright as the sky itself but this way it minimizes that or eliminates it.

Considering legends who are small/big also have their buff/nerf passives, that should balance out a clean headshot on one or the other.

@iBlockHead It won’t work on console unless you have an elite controller or use a mouse and keyboard.

BFV has it and their control system on xbox is horrible. Slide lay down and crouch are all the same button. It just does not work.

@DarthValtrex COD games have a similar system and they got it down pretty nice.
Prone isn't allowed if running, it will only lead you to crouch and you must hold it again to fully prone.
It's all about how they tackle it, they use to have a dive animation instead which was fun but not very practical unless you wanna kill in style.
@Extremejinks ah you caught me.. 😳 I wanna see if it's as useful as crouch spamming.

I'd enjoy it. They'd have to implement some type of "inactivity" type of penalty though for the campers. Pending on the ring and squads left maybe.

@jumanjaydazed like getting the boot if you stay still for too long?

I thought there already was something like that if you camp in a corner for too long.

But yes I was thinking some kind of draw back for being able to hide better, something like holstering all weapons.

I can just see mirage doing his "draw me like your french girls" pose rather than actually going prone lmao.
Back on topic though, if it offered sway reduction i'd be all for it.
