Valks V sign

Okay so I've been arguing with this dude all day about how valks V sign is an offensive gesture in some countries do I expect anything to be done about this ever no but I would just like to ask am I a * for not supporting a sign in the game that actually made a few of my friends who I enjoyed playing with quit playing and call me a * if you want but just am I also if you want more info on valks V sign

"The V sign, when the palm is facing toward the person giving the sign, has long been an insulting gesture in the United Kingdom, and later in Ireland, Australia, South Africa, India, Pakistan, and New Zealand. It is frequently used to signify defiance (especially to authority), contempt, or derision."

Now I don't expect anything to be done about this but the original dude I was arguing with was so petty he made a post so I will as well

  • @HeyNameDoesntFi I think its not unreasonable to expect any audience to consider context and cultural differences.

For example, the thumps up gesture is a positive one in most countries but an insult or threat in the middle east. Do you see many complaining about it? No because they understand it.

generally anything that will stay as a name in a good sense generation after generation will or does equal gay. they take it to mean gay so if pepsi is going to around forever pepsi will mean gay one day too.

shoes will mean gay one day.

air will mean gay one day in the future.

but turbografx or colecovision will never mean gay because theyre antiquated.

its just how things are. i mean no derogatory offense its the way things are.

  • @gg123xyz"As definitions of positively associated terms change over time, the probability of it ending up as a synonym for gay approaches one".

Also Pepsi? You're gonna find more people associate Fanta with Germany 1933-1945 than anyone saying anything positive about Pepsi.

@MandatoryIDtag Funny cause in France and USA it is often used as "V for Victory" and it is a way of bragging and showing "I feel good" depending on the media (in an Instagram post it would look like "yeah, I'm there and quite hip"..)

In North America where the development team is located this is how most interpret it. We'll keep an eye out for more feedback from the community if this arises and let the team know of these concerns.

With that being said we're going to close down this conversation as it's starting to go in a direction that will lead to forum violations.

See you in the arenas this weekend.
