Video for all EGO players out there

Found this gem in YT: https://youtu.be/aCqb6UTJ5cg?si=kvAA7JxrBwer9Rrj

Not only overall conversation pointed out some things that improve performance in FPS (gladly mostly known to me) but I was like "hell yeah" at the point of the video where question "what is best carrier killer" -> and the answer was EGO

And this does not come from some random person on internet, this comes from staff / coach of Tier 1 pro team!

So to all "omg look at your damage", "I can solo every game", "look at my kills" etc. people a suggestion to watch this, think about your actions in the game and think twice - do you want to get better and at the same time create better experience for community, or you really want to remain this egocentric freak and just be bad and bad for other.

  • Well known to anyone whose experience in life came before their experience in video games. Sadly there are generations of gamers who were born in a bubble called "the internet" where actions have no consequences and game developers throw gas on their fire. The internet is an ego incubator and gaming amplifies it all. This game is the poster child for rubbing up against a player just enough to make them feel invincible... then crushing them like a bug. But of course most players don't care. And the whole system is designed to try to prevent them from caring. The game needs an army of idiots if streamers and pros are going to be kept content.

Yeah in Apex clear examples are:

    • there was? loading screen message saying "there is not "I" in "Team"" promoting teamworking, at the same time there are so many stats and badges that reward individual dominance = 20bomb, 4k, k/d, damage per game etc...
    • many people will evaluate your opinion, calls, ideas not objectively but based on individual performance stats (above) = many teammates will follow someone who does brainless pushes and succeed in them vs doing the right thing, creating right habits and if you have great idea but 0 damage you will mostly likely hear "yeah sure, go rat / loot"
    • ranked system that rewards Fragment droppers that later will be carried (their early KP multiplied) by other teammates that will play for position / survival

But I think that if such videos from actual pro teams would surface more people would understand that yes individual skill matters and fragging matters and damage matter but if while doing that you are piece of s#%$% noone will play with you in higher ranks. You will stop at the level where you might find 1-2 low skill / ego players who will follow you only because easy RP for them aka fanboys/fangirls but nothing more.
