I also noticed this change, I can't figure out if it's a glitch or an intentional re-design. There are a couple of skins I missed first time round which I intended to pick up next time, shuriken showboat is one of them. I quite liked that it was a subtle style epic skin, basically just black with some minor red animated parts (not too overdone). The new design basically turns it into a xmas tree (covered in way too many white stars), it doesn't appeal anymore. Hopefully it's just a glitch because I don't think they would intentionally animate so many parts of the model (maybe it was only intended to add some small stars to the gloves but somehow the entire lower half got painted in).. if it's intentional it somehow doesn't work aesthetically when that much surface area is animated (it messes with the details and contours). It is quite problematic re-designing an existing skin which has already been purchased by so many players (even if they were confident the re-design was an improvement). I think I've noticed some subtle changes to existing skins before but this alteration, if intentional, is virtually a recolor.
Community AdminI wonder if anyone complained when they added the missing Roman numeral to the Clocktane skin? Kinda like those ultra-valuable incorrectly minted coins.
@EA_David Thanks for the help. I'm guessing that pretty soon after you report this issue you will receive a fairly definitive yes or no answer as to the question of whether or not the skin change was intentional (any confirmation of this would be useful info). Or perhaps it might take them a few days to investigate, by which time the skin will no longer be available in the store.. if that is the case, the dilemma is, for anyone who is thinking of buying this skin, should they risk getting it now (before it becomes unavailable) in the hope that it is going to be reverted or fixed at a later point?
Edit- I've seen a few old posts of people saying they thought the original design was too basic so I am starting to think it could be a re-design and not a bug.. it's just hard to believe anyone would prefer the reworked version given the choice (plus it would set a precedent regarding the purchase of skins knowing that any epic skin could potentially be radically reworked at some point after purchase).
