I tested it further and even on a gtx1060, 80fps are not the same in a game heavy on graphics vs a game light on graphics.
So even if the gtx1060 is capped at 80fps and the frame rate doesnt drop either, still ,a light game will look perfectly smooth at 80fps while a heavy on graphics game will look a lot worse(it will look like you are playing at 60fps).
All engines are different and run differently. Then you have latency which also effects the gameplay and animation quality. Most online games have input latency, even if it's only a couple of frames it will effect the responsiveness and feel of the game. THere's also a lot of post processing effects in the video menu, such ambient occlusion and anti aliasing. These also add input latency to the game. My recommendation is to turn everything to low for online play.

I have exactly the same fps as you. I just capped it at 80fps because I have a 75hz monitor.
I know there are different kinds of monitors but on my monitor capping the game at 74fps has the best results. It has to do with syncing.
Other games have it too. Capping at 74fps is the best and the next smoothest animation is at 120fps. All the inbetween animations are A LOT worse.
From 75-80fps it looks like tearing(it doesnt look that bad) and above that it doesnt look like tearing, it looks choppy, even if you play at 100fps+. (in many games not just this one)
Of course if I turn vsync on, all games look perfect but there is input lag.
