Weapon Mastery - Earning XP

I was perusing through the weapon mastery section last night, and happened upon the breakdown for how we earn weapon XP. I figured I would share it, just in case there are others on here, like me, that didn't see this information before now.

When it comes to weapon XP, there are a few different ways you earn it.

Using Weapons:

"Keep weapons in hand to earn XP. XP isn't earned if the weapon is stowed." 

I have started to run around more without my weapons being holstered, now that I know this. I know it slows me down a bit, but I'll deal with it until I get my mastery maxed out

Kills:

"Securing kills with a weapon will earn you additional XP." 

Damage:

"Dealing damage earns weapon XP. Bonuses for hits while sliding, zipping and jumping."

I knew that damage earned XP, but I was not aware of the bonuses for landing shots while sliding and whatnot

Headshots:

"Critical hit damage earns the maximum bonus weapon XP."

Time to dial in those sights!!

I'm sure most people have already seen this, but hopefully this might help some people understand the weapon XP a little better, like it did for me. I haven't played quite enough yet this season to get into the trials, so I can't speak to how those work. Best of luck out there!
