Frags are in a good spot, I think the blast radius can be reduced slightly tho, you need to run very far from them to avoid them if you're in the open and can hide behind any rocks or corner of a building.
The thermite's are useful to throw at a door's base which is being blocked since the thermite passes underneath, problem is you have to wait for the burn to end before you can pass through yourself if you're out of shield cells, or want to spend your last ones.
Arc stars, are perhaps in need of some nerfing. I have gotten a bunch to stick, and it's always a game over for them, while I think it's fine the way it is if you hit a player, I think getting stunned from a stat landing near you is overpowered.
Its easy to have a bunch of stars strewn across the ground making them unavoidable, since the slow from the proximity to them makes it impossible to escape the blast radius.
I also think the visual blur a player experiences is too strong, it's almost as bothering as Bangalore's ultimate.
As for bag space, I find myself never carrying any with a lvl1 backpack
Only 2 stars with a level 2 backpack
And maybe 4 with a level 3 backpack, but only in case they are not a ton of shield batteries and medkits in the deathboxes we looted.
I hope you would have a separate ordnance slot in your standard backpack, capping you out with having 2 grenades. 3 with a lvl 2 backpack, and 4 with a lvl 3/4 backpack.
This way you could carry grenades without having to sacrifice half your ammo or recovery items in early game, and also caps you from having more than 4 late game to avoid overpowered Arcstar spams.
I have seen many streamers playing ammo efficient gun combo's (wingman and peacekeeper for example) to save bag space for 8 arc stars.
- 6 years agoI only use 'nades and arcs. Thermite was usefull in titanfall, but in this game, at least for me, not so much. If someone throws a thermite I figure out 1 of the following:
A) the person's scared and wants to retreat
B) wants to med/shield up
C) wants to revive a teammate
So basically every time someone throws a thermite at me... and I know there aren't 3 ppl on the other side, I just jump straight through it shooting like a mad russian!
'Nades and arcs I spam alot... i used to never have throwables, but it's just so fun to throw a couple and see 'downed (insert name)' couple secs later 'downed (insert name)' then some shootwork and another squad gone. - 6 years agoAnd i think radius from all grenas are fine.

Overall they're fine, nades are almost always avoidable. Radius need to be adjusted a bit. Not 'nerfed' but sometimes from mid-range frags/arcs do full damage when they should be doing less. I would think they should only do 100 if you're basically right next to one. Maybe more tiers of damage with each bracket of range?
Really unlucky if you get stuck from an arc.. that's where a pathfinder hook, wraith q, bang smoke, etc. is very useful but it's not over at that point; maybe lower the slow percentage a tiny bit. But if they get too weak no one will even use them in their bags, stock up on meds instead.
Thermites need use an area buff somehow, I agree. They're great for blocking doors and giving away your location 😃
Also, as previously suggested: pleaseee implement a separate grenade pouch, a new item you pickup with rarities- and is a 'body piece' just like a helmet, bag, or armor. That would help a lot later on when you're just dropping and swapping stuff
- 6 years agoIn most respects I think grenades are in a good spot.
The arc-star stun is in need of toning down, though.
