What we can learn from Apex Mobile
Watched a gameplay video of the mobile version of apex and I liked what they did with some stuff. These are mostly small improvements that we can implement in the main version of the game.
1. You can pick a legend skin after you’ve picked a your legend for that match. There’s a call back to the season 3 launch trailer.
2. POI names when dropping. Maybe you can have the option to turn this one off if you are very familiar with all the map POIs.
These suggestions are mostly for our beginner players and for us players who has been playing since 2019. With the overwhelming things that you have to learn like legends, maps, weapons, and other mechanics like crafting, survey beacons, heat shields, mobile respawn, and even how doors and ropes work, this game is not noob friendly at all. The tutorial and firing range is also outdated compared to the mobile version. I’ve posted a video of the mobile version of the firing range and the tutorial at the bottom of this post.
Watch the first 40 seconds only.
1. This is where you can change skins before drop and this is reference to the season 3 launch trailer where the legends are shown literally dropping from a platform. The whole champion and squad sequence is straight from the trailer.
2. This is what I like for our beginner players out there. Instead of pinging, then opening up the map to know what the POI name, why not just put the name itself on the map like Warzone. Have the option to turn it off for veteran players who already know the maps by heart.
A more comprehensive tutorial. Our tutorial is so outdated that it doesn’t add the new mechanics post-inception of our tutorial like replicators, heat shields, survey beacons, mobile respawn etc.
Tutorial starts at 1:27
Firing range. Why is it that moving the dummy an easter egg? It should just be a button. Also, just give us unlimited ammo in the firing range.
You can change how you want the practice dummies to behave.
An integrated 1v1 or free for all mode with a scoring system in the firing range.
And finally, the mobile version has a 6v6 team deathmatch mode and here we are begging for a whole year just for a new LTM to arrive. Pretty sure EA will add NFTs in this game before implementing these modes.
