Account was Hacked

My account was recently hacked. When the new update got pushed on the 17th, I tried to login the game on my PS5 account. When I logged in, it asked me to link an EA account like if you were doing cross progression. I am usually able to bypass it. This time was different. It forced me to login which I did. It then created a new account instead of linking my previous account. I was then greeted with a message " unable to login account logged into another device." I contacted EA support and they told me my account was hacked and recovered. I waited for an hour like the EA assistant told me to in order for the account to reset. Upon logging in, I noticed my account was completely reset to default as if it was a new account. All my progress and purchases were missing. I recontacted EA support and they said it was because it got linked to the new account created rather then the older account I had. Upon logging back in and checking my account, I noticed that my account was missing over 3000 apex coins. After I let the support know I was immediately greeted with there is nothing we can do from here. That is essentially saying that $30 dollars in monetary value is gone and there is nothing they can do. I was told to post on the forum and hope someone would respond which sounds like horrible business practice from a consumer stand point but what can you expect from EA. Been a player since season 0 but this is unacceptable.

  • ronron559 Sadly, hacked accounts cannot be handled on the forums, as you would need to contact EA Support, (like you had done already).

This would mean that whoever had hacked into your account had unlinked your PlayStation Account from your EA Account.

You would need to regain access to both your EA and PlayStation Accounts, (including changing your passwords for both accounts and enabling two step-verification for both accounts as well). From there, all you can do is to unlink the PlayStation Account from the incorrect EA Account, and then relink it back to the EA Account it was originally linked with as your Apex progress and data is stored on your EA Account, (not on the PlayStation Account).

Note: Relinking may or may not restore some, (or all), your Apex progress and data, as it is a risk players take when they unlink their platform accounts.

Unfortunately, any spent in-game currency cannot be refunded, and the items purchased cannot be traded, converted, etc., (I wish it was possible, (like how it is with Fortnite), but it sadly isn't with Apex).

As for this, any account related issue cannot be handled on the forums.

Lastly, if you had been banned, you would need to contact the EA TOS Team as bans also cannot be handled on the forums.

Would not expect anything less from EA. Keeping the customer in a loop that will never resolve. EA support points me in this direction and you point me back in their direction with neither offering any real resolution. I've essentially been robbed of 30 dollars of monetary value and there is nothing that can be done is the only help I get.

As much as it sucks. Your only option would be to continuously contact EA support. Had a friend lose everything in his apex account once and he had to spend roughly 6 months of continuously contacting EA support for anything to be done. It's awful and you'll either continuously get the same answer or different non consistent answers from multiple people. The systems in place aren't there to help you, except for when its convenient. Sorry to hear it happened to you.
