I love talking about this because it gives me a chance to have people realize that strong SBMM makes statistics pointless.
I have hit Masters every season since the rank was introduced. Despite this, the bulk of my games are pubs, where SBMM exclusively pits me against the top 1%. The same people that I can’t seem to beat to break into Pred are the same people who comprise my pub lobbies.
My win % is 1.4
That is significantly lower than almost all of my friends who are gold-level players. It’s infuriating because I’m not a bad player; in fact, consistently getting Masters suggests I’m in the top 10% of players. SBMM should never be aggressive enough that someone in the top 10% loses more than someone in the bottom 40%. It just feels slightly unethical.

@Daze623 @DarthValtrex @ILostT0Loba @bosourd @hayhor I tagged everyone so i can answer only one time lol.
Yeah i always solo queue and i'm a pretty aggressive player but i still try to be a bit cautious while pushing, going yolo will always repay you with death. I think also another problem is teammates. I like to push people but most of the times i stick with them because i'm not that stupid to go 1v3 (i'm not a pro) and almost every time they get knocked instantly or don't deal any damage, leaving to me most of the work. This where the sbmm problem mentioned by @Axs5626Sxa5001 comes in. Most of the times i have predators against me but for sure i'll never have one on my squad. Last match i had a Revenant as a teammate, he didn't even know how to use his abilities, in fact he used his totem in the house of the enemy team. That's the people i'm playing with lol. So at this point i might just start to play no fill duos so i can blame only myself when i die😇.

@Cro_Pittt Preds I get preds for teammates semi frequently at least once a night. Trust me they have their bad moments too. I try not to focus on wins much. I mostly just want to kill people and play as a team. I only get frustrated when my team is not playing as a team things like that.
They don't have to be great at the game, they just need to be in the fight together. Duos is kind of tricky, yeah it;s easier to 1vs2 enemy squads. But you have to keep in mind there are more squads and you're more likely to get third partied. So those 1vs2 can easily turn into 1vs4 or 1vs6 situations. Even if you win fights 1vs2, having a teammate who's providing a distraction/cover fire while you pop a batt is often what makes the difference.
I got a squad wipe tonight by that, my teammates revived me, enemy squad pushed them while I healed off to the side. my teammates went down and I proceed to kill all 3 of the enemies. 1 was finishing a teammate and en easy kill, the other 2 rushed me in a really bad way thinking I was an easy kill because I only 150 health/armor left. - 5 years ago@Cro_Pittt Yep. It’s ridiculous. It’s punishment for players for improving.
