We are 2 weeks out and there is literally nothing out there other than speculation about the new legend (Cave), the new map (codenamed 'District'), and some snippets about the Battlepass.Not that I expect Respawn to say much because their community relations is basically non existent, but usually they start dropping trailers and hints in game by now don't they? Just curious . . .

They don't always lay out, dollar for dollar, how well or poorly the game is doing, but they will always let investors know which properties are performing well and which are failing to meet expectations. I suppose the real loophole here is, what exactly are EA's expectations for the game? It's entirely possible that they EXPECT the game to decline over time, as all games do, and in that light it makes no sense to put money into major overhauls or fancy new modes. Where they'll spend is on the store. That's where the money comes from after all.On the other hand, we've had two new modes in very recent memory, and a new season around the corner which may bring some big new content. If it does then I'd say this is all an indication that EA DOES see a future for the game. That vision may not include some or any of the things we'd like to see fixed or added, but the game will still persist as long as it keeps making money.

@EPS1234I saw that video and if true, Apex is dead. Those changes are absolutely horrible.There are other hints both in game and leaked (Thordan Smash on YT) that contradict that post though. New legend might be Cave, a Treasure Hunt game mode, and a new map codenamed District will be more urban with wall running elements from Titanfall (i.e.-wall running paths that allow any legend to use them).

And if not, why not?In short: Can't or don't they want to make the game better for the average player?Apparently all the writing here in the forum is of no use. Maybe a shrinking player base will help.After all, the number of players on Steam has halved within a year. You have to manage that first.

@reconzero I see it similarly to you.In my opinion, there are at least four possibilities as to why the game is at its current (largely unpopular?) state.1. it contains bugs. It does contain a few bugs, but they are not so serious as to make the game bad. However, the servers could be better (tick rate and general quality), but this could also be for monetary reasons (see below). The response time for bugs could be faster...2. the developers don't want to. This means that the developers are well aware of the wishes of the average player, but would rather take care of some fancy events or nice skins or something similar. I think this is unlikely.3. the developers can't. This is a broad field and therefore I consider this point to be the most likely. They can't because EA gives them certain guidelines, because the team has been massively downsized, because they don't have the skills or the game is programmed so strangely that it can't be improved with the best developers. Any or all of the above, take your pick.4. the developers don't need it (yet). Is the perception problem with us or them?As @ComicBookGuy2727 has already said: the best chance would be if revenue were to fall. But from EA's point of view, the numbers are right and everything is going great.EA is too big, but can't we buy Respawn?So I can only repeat my last sentence: If you are no longer satisfied, then find another game!

There’s plenty of leaks out all just really bad armor change replicator change . They took a cookie cutter recipe and changed it for no reason. Also no new map no new gun no new legend if you kill somebody with a purple armor and try to swap it’s temporary now the replicator can only be used once by each squad or something. Ridiculous rank changes back to season 12 terrible they added some over complicated perk system. That’ll make legends overpowered. It’s bad bud I look for a new game that’s what I’m doing

I hope the new rumoured map DISTRICT is for BR mode. I think Apex needs a new map to help retain players like myself...

@HappyHourSumwur Overall apex is not in a good shape, pubg has on steam now almost double the playerbase of apex while they were quite even for a long time before.

Drastic changes need to happen to get apex back up, what changes I don’t know but things need to change,

@matzesingtI agree but Respawn has a history of making changes that nobody wants or likes (Ranked). What they think Apex is and how it should play seems radically different from what most players (I'm not talking pros) would like to see, too. They tend to make things worse rather than actually listen to the community and address the foundational issues with the game.

@Realthing707 We'll see in the next week or so, I hope. I personally feel that we'll get 2 out of 3 of those, probably a legend and a map. That's based on in game content hinting at them and prior history with YT people like Thordan Smash who have said these things are coming.
The evo shield change sounds horrible and completely unnecessary. I just don't know WTH Respawn is thinking when they come up with stuff like this. Nobody is complaining about how evo shields work and IMO this is a terrible way of addressing the dilution of the ground loot pool.
