There is actually a lot more diversity in competitive picks now than there used to be. If you go back and watch the first year of comp, the only legends picked were wraith, path and wattson. They had a 100% pick rate. Then they gave recon legends scanning so teams started running bloodhound and gibby as they wanted to play edge more. Comp teams will always migrate to the perceived meta. Take Seer. Seer didn't get any buffs but one player had success with him and wham, he is suddenly meta.

i’m not particularly sure that answer will suffice in season 14. i could give that as a reason to maybe season 8.
any competitive game needs to re look at the legends being laughed at by the pros. perhaps get their thoughts on what might make it picked by at least 1 pro team.
pubs ranked and comp should all be based on just comp. comp is what the meta is, what legends are good and what legends are crap.
i get that balance changes take awhile and may not be as easy as one may think, but does anyone see them actually get predator / master levels opinions?
these players are the cornerstone of why apex is doing well, why people want to play, they should be involved more.
i could name a couple legends that are dog water in pubs ranked and also competitive. season 14 should have made every old legend playable by now, this is pretty unacceptable.

@Voidraker It's simply impossible to make all the legends viable in the same way. They've done a pretty good work at expanding the meta to other picks. Right now legends used even in competitive are a lot: Horizon, Mad Maggie, Newcastle, Crypto, Gibby, Caustic, Wraith, Wattson, Valk, Seer, Bloodhound and maybe Bangalore. And also they can't change the meta that often, teams need time to practice and learn what's the best comp for them. Otherwise if you change the meta every 2 weeks or month you'll only get chaos as a result, and tourneys would not be that enjoyable to watch and play. I think the way they are managing all the meta thing is good, last seasons we never saw Wattson or Newcastle being picked, now they are pretty common as an example.
