Where's The Best Place To Find Teammates?
I'm an old guy who plays in the unranked pubs. I tried a headset a few years ago, but stopped using it because of the profane idiots and little kids. Playing without coms is close to a death sentence...

I have been playing for years. But Apex has changed over the years. I loved to wander around the maps, sometimes getting eliminated while admiring a new detail, but I only now do that in pubs if there is a daily challenge to complete, and I do that solo, I gave up on playing random squad pubs a while back.
I have never used coms for the same reasons as you, and a hearing issue. Not going to let that nonsence into my life.
But I have to tell you that mix tape is great fun imo. Some games I can get wiped, others not so much. There is no need imo to worry about coms there as it is basically a free for all, just think of it as a shorter game. My aim there is to complete the daily/weekly or event challenges that i can. Did you play Arenas when it was around? Its kinda like that.
I am only a couple of years younger than you, so you can easily adapt your style and abilities to play MT, and I play very conservatively with the reaction speeds of a sloth, but I still have a lot of fun.
I also play Fortnite, have you tried that? It has an excellent ping system that is used by everybody, as far as I can see, as well as a very good visual sound system.
Thank you, I'll give Mixtape a try. I've played Fortnite and liked everything but the building aspect. Despite the rampant cheating/hacks, I still love this game, and at 71 years-old, that's saying something : )

Frankencooler Same here and I recommend playing Fortnite's Zero Build game mode since you don't like the building, (where you can actually fight people without a 5 star hotel with built-in Wi-Fi popping up in 0.1s upon the enemy taking damage).
Fortnite has Zero Build in these game modes:
- Unranked (Pubs)
- Ranked
- OG
- Reload

While the 10 yo may have a reaction advantage, they have no appreciation of a tactical approach. Sometimes i hot drop to live train and improve my reaction speed and controller settings (on a laptop) . More normally i get kitted out then go hunting at a run.

Zero build BR is the way to go on Fnite atm, there is solo, duo, squads and ranked. You would just have to get used to the new maps and weapons. Before zero build I played build duos with my daughter, I cannot build, and she would burn the enemy builds down while i would grenade them at the same time. Great fun.
I like solos and for some reason, I am way better at Fortnite than Apex.
