I'm an old guy who plays in the unranked pubs. I tried a headset a few years ago, but stopped using it because of the profane idiots and little kids. Playing without coms is close to a death sentence in this game, especially with all the hackers/cheaters. Where's a good place to find like-minded team members? I'm tired of doing this alone. Thanks!
I have been playing for years. But Apex has changed over the years. I loved to wander around the maps, sometimes getting eliminated while admiring a new detail, but I only now do that in pubs if there is a daily challenge to complete, and I do that solo, I gave up on playing random squad pubs a while back.
I have never used coms for the same reasons as you, and a hearing issue. Not going to let that nonsence into my life.
But I have to tell you that mix tape is great fun imo. Some games I can get wiped, others not so much. There is no need imo to worry about coms there as it is basically a free for all, just think of it as a shorter game. My aim there is to complete the daily/weekly or event challenges that i can. Did you play Arenas when it was around? Its kinda like that.
I am only a couple of years younger than you, so you can easily adapt your style and abilities to play MT, and I play very conservatively with the reaction speeds of a sloth, but I still have a lot of fun.
I also play Fortnite, have you tried that? It has an excellent ping system that is used by everybody, as far as I can see, as well as a very good visual sound system.
