Who is the worst legend...

and why is it Crypto?

There I said it.

I've tried several times to get into him but I just can't.

Would love to hear from some Crypto mains out there as to why they play him and how they get him to "work".

  • Crypto for me, for the main reason he has to be passive whilst manouvering his Tactical Surveillance Drone & Ultimate Drone EMP & I've often found even when using the best hiding places when using his Tactical or Ultimate without cover he's a sitting duck particularly for Bloodhound & Seer players to track him.And for use as a tracking player both Bloodhound & Seer are just better characters for that job & the fact his drone is just so loud it just makes it too obvious a Crypto player nearby. An option maybe to make his drone a lot quieter another option for Crypto to have is whilst in passive mode whilst using his Drone is to have a Wraith like warning that there are enemies in sight.

But ultimately as a character Crypto is what I would describe as a Marathon Runner (ie a lot more effective in long matches when there are 5 or less squads left) rather than  a 100m sprinter (landing in hotspots with loads of squads when there just isn't time to play passive on his Tactical etc)

@RockDokRockId rather have crypto on my team the a mirage. crypto is better in comp then he is in pubs. I just think that people don't like the gameplay of crypto. I do understand that crypto has some issues in his kit that don't feel super satisfying all the time. But when ever someone suggests a buff or a change to crypto it's always things to make his drone auto pilot or just another scanner legend. so i must ask the question, do you not like cryptos gameplay or do you legitimately find him weak?

  • If I look at my kills per legend, I see that Crypto and Gibraltar are the lowest.

I just don't like to not move and sit on my drone. A good Crypto teammate is amazing, but I just can't get myself to be so relaxed during a game

As for gibby, I don't like feeling so slow and big. I like to be fast and move around 🙂

  • @RockDokRock I honestly couldn't decide on a "worst" legend, myself. I enjoy playing with all legends, depending on the circumstances. I couldn't even tell you how many times I have been in a situation mid-game, and thought to myself "Man, I really wish I was using X legend right about now, to counter this enemy team". I have good matches and bad matches with all legends. Heck, my highest dmg games in BR & Arena aren't even with my main! My first 2k wasn't with my main, either. I've gotten fairly used to each and every legend though, simply by completing challenges over the seasons, and making myself get familiar with them. I can't really peg one as my "worst", though, or even least favorite, for that matter. I try thinking about it, and just end up thinking about why I like each legend, because for me, it's just situational

How good or bad a Legend is feels like it has more to do with your teammates than the Legend himself. Playing Gibraltar in Season 1 my teammates had this strange love for Skulltown. Forcing a fight into Skulltown usually meant no Ult, no Dome and my gunshield may be worthless against players constantly running through buildings or grappling up 3 stories.

Crypto has a similar problem. Interesting abilities but how often is a random team going to work with you? 9 times out of 10 they'll go all in on a fight then act surprised the Crypto planned to scan the enemies before engaging.
