I just read a full thread of fools who think they know everything and dont want to listen to concerns that 95% of the player base has complained about.
Third partying due to sound travel distance being to high does not force skill, it does not force rotation, it does nothing but create a game were people in high levels refuse to push. Something you see in most pro games. Please prove me wrong I dare you that most pro games are not 99% camping due to third party issue.
This game doesnt reward you for taking gun fights. It put punishes you. This is even made worse by most updates remove areas you could fall back too. Just look at kings canyon change. Complete garbage
I dont care who you are there is no reason that sound has to travel so far. Espically when in season 9 we still have sound issues with footsteps
- hayhor5 years agoHero@sireladio I believe the loud sounds help produce action which most people seem to want. If they didnt they wouldnt drop fragment over and over.

This is actually incorrect I think the release of KC season 1 proves this more than words could.
Look how much people fight and long distance sound isnt required.
The core issue is not just sound travel distance. It is also the fact that respawn have continually made maps require less skill to play and to make third partying easier.
Its that age old thing of you goto make it so even the worse players in your game can win and sadly third partying is a heavy result of this. Why ingage a 3v3 when you can just sit back with a charge rifle , 301, or G7 and just get easy free kills.
Look at season 1,
Any one who played when this game first came out understood snipers were strong but you never used them just to third party. They were a viable weapon that allowed you get the early damage then push. Respawn then started making the maps more open and with less cover so now all that happens is people wont push they wont fight because instead of having 20 places of cover in a 200m radius you now have a single building and a tree. Its half the reason Rev/Oct has become such an issue also.
Honestly I think KC Skulltown shows what a great area is. Its built up there is loads of places to fight, different levels, multiple ways to attack or hold. Now look at KC now its an open mess where all you do is wait for an oct/rev squad to jump from halfway across the map
- 5 years ago@sireladio The issue of people avoiding fights is because of a trash rank system that has more focus on it being a BR than an FPS, not sound.
- E9ine_AC5 years agoHero+@sireladio Where is this number of 95% come from? Is it factual or is it assumption? Because myself and many like myself play this game because of third parties. We want the action. This game is well known and has shined in the aspect of third parties. So I feel the reason it is never addressed is simply because its designed this way and became a thing in apex. I personally love it as do most everyone i know who plays. I guess only way people can get out of third party is rat until last 2 teams. Because third party will never change no matter what is changed in the sounds. People still know points of interest and will always push those. So in the end it would not stop anything.
- sireladio5 years agoRising Adventurer@E9ine_AC So,
What you just said is that you cant win a proper gun fight so you have to hide for third parties?
This here is the issue,
This game and the reason many of us started was never third partying. You may have started because you could hide and get a kill here and there but the majority of us played it because it was a game with good mechanics that allowed for fast pace gun fights were having a high level of movement skill made the biggest difference.
Now the game is who can hide the best and knows map rotations the best. And honestly its killing the game. You can say what you like about so called record numbers but the LFG sites prove far more than just a twitter comment does.
Season 1-5 you would put an lfg post out and would have 1000s of replies in minutes. Now if you hit diamond good luck finding a team on an lfg site as most people who actually want to play competitive dont play this game any more.
