@NACHONOV0 while yes, that does make sense, consider this:
Apex when it first released had hit 50 million players within the first month of release, and quickly dwindled to 1 million concurrent players shortly after. Multiple posts here on the boards and on Reddit all quote lack of content initially, but overtime criticized the slow development (not just with content but also with important bug fixes. Audio hasn't worked properly since the game came out, Season 3's introduction of World's Edge exacerbated that issue, and every season we see the same "patched" bugs return to the game, while waiting entire seasons for supposed fixes).
While yes it's important to continue to grow your player population, focusing solely on that I believe was the nail in the coffin for many long-time players who've not only supported, but also waited for fixes for long standing issues due to their seasonal update schedule. A lot of Redditors frequently meme about how ineffective and slow the development has been, and I think focusing on that would've been more beneficial in the long run to re-attract players who love Apex but grew disenchanted with how poorly it functioned overall.
This would be a good business strategy if this weren’t a F2P game; but as F2P game, wouldn’t you prioritize keeping your existing customers happy because they are literally the people most likely to continue to drop money into the game every new season?

What some of you guys that like the ttk change also don't consider is players that just want to solo q and are an above average to good gamer are thrown into hard lobbies. This makes it that much harder to enjoy the game since the sbmm for some reason also forces you to try and carry poor teamates against squads of high level players. It is really ludicrous to be honest. There is just such a small success rate of being able to squad wipe now since if you take any damage you are pretty much doomed instantly 1v3. Now everyone quits instantly anytime something unfavorable happens because the chance to turn the situation around has been drastically decreased. After playing almost everyday since launch I think I am finally through with the game. All my friends are playing something else including warzone and the skill gap has just been decreased enough to make it not feel worth my time any longer.
- 5 years ago@SHIZNICKMASTA damn this season is just a nightmare, so far I've quit the game for a while, maybe forever
