@EA_Atic, you've got an outdated info. Enabling EAC is easy now. (though saying that you're supporting another additional platform is another thing)
More precisely about enabling Steam Deck / Proton support there is a Valve's announcement:

So, activate support on EAC partner site and download a file.

@EA_Atic, your info is from January 8, my announcement is dated January 22. Integration is just downloading a file and installing it (well, and also going on the EAC web portal to activate it).
Of course, as before, there is testing, there is support. Those aren't free.

As of today, they have merged their steam deck test branch into the main public one. With Proton-experimental (or bleeding edge), and the latest update, it is working on Linux. I have tried in firing range and played in matches.
