Wraith nerfed again?!
Wraith has a high winrate because most good players use her PERIOD, the balancing that you guys are pushing is based on the fact that you want to GUT the advantages that good players have because th...
But still, you're gonna need good movement to outplay anyone regardless of who you pick. Choosing Wraith, the way she was didn't guarantee you anything in the end. She was fun to play at one point but with all her "get out of jail free cards" it still wasn't enough to guarantee success on most days.
I've been outstrafed by Loba's, Octane's, Bangalore's and even Crypto's many times. Too many to even count.
Tiny and difficult to hit shouldn't mean we need to make her weak, it means they shouldn't create new legends the size of trees. And if they do they should have abilities that at least make them fun to play or competitive. The nerfs she got didn't even adress the actual issue.
Bangalore is a nightmare to hit when "double timing it". Should we nerf her too? What about Octane that's running faster than my Caustic? Or Loba with an unfair advantage to steal all the good loot early game?
They messed up with Gibby. He needed a buff but they over did it. Still, I can easily lose to anyone better than me while playing Gibby myself. You can learn how to engage him differently and win, same with any legend.
Meta guns, I'm all for it. Games have always been this way. Quake, Doom, Unreal Tournament etc. You got lucky when you picked up a OP weapon, that's how it is. It actually gave you a chance to win against people better than you, and I see nothing wrong with that. Sometimes it still isn't enough. Same way you get lucky for picking up Purple armour and you're opponent has white. Did the armour win the fight? Most likely.
Skill? Aceu said it himself that battle royale can and should never be an esport. Rng and luck decides who wins way too many times over skill.
Remember, the same people playing Wraith also play against her..
And if all the best players start using let's say Bloodhound, would the numbers also suggest he needs a nerf? His win rate would be off the charts. Numbers don't always tell the whole story.
Wraith has downsides to her abilities. Enemies can use portals too, works both ways. And when phasing all you need to do is follow the blue streak and shoot where it ends.
Yes, rng is not the only factor, but a pretty big one no doubt in BR, if I get a weapon before you do you're dead. You can learn where the good loot is but it doesn't help if you and 5 other pro teams land there all at once. Skill will be a factor, but Apex isn't the best game for demonstrating it properly as the best player won't always win. Tbh I'm not sure if it was even designed to be that competitive in the first place, but people want it to be and this creates a problem. Server tick rate is a good indication of that.
@Sand_spitter
so what if they're playing against her too? That doesn't change a thing. Are you saying that Gibby doesn't need a nerf cause everyone plays against him too?
If they found a way to make BH work as well as Wraith then yeah he would need a nerf but will that ever happen? Lets not forget that Wraith is a popular legend not just for pro players but really bad players too so you'll have to take into consideration how those players will impact the win rate too.
"You can learn where the good loot is but it doesn't help if you and 5 other pro teams land there all at once."
That's why you look around so you can decide where to drop. Lots of people dropping on where you plan to drop? then drop on the nearby poi and just 3rd party.
"Skill will be a factor, but Apex isn't the best game for demonstrating it properly as the best player won't always win."
Yeah but the best players will usually win.
They play against her too and I don't hear them complaining about it. If there's a problem with a character we all experience it, just some of us choose to complain and hope we get our way instead of becoming better at the game. It used to be people would find a work around to such things, now it's just change it or else.
People want the game to be fair, but that will never happen. Not in Apex.
What I do think is unfair is that people want changes to be made to weapons / characters because they don't want to deal with it. That's like telling a writer to rewrite pieces in his book over and over and him actually doing it because you don't like it. Feedback is one thing, but the way it's happening in this day and age is pretty damn low. The Caustic buff/nerf situation is a prime example.
There are so many other stuff they could actually be focused on like servers and audio, that they actually should be fixing, but don't.
