People quit for a lot of reasons, some of which are weak and selfish, but many of which are pretty understandable. Often times it's a combination of both. But I'm going to throw Respawn under the bus on this one for one very simple reason. Last season they deleted about half of the replicators in the game. If I have a squadmate go down early game, it's because he's alone on the other side of the map. I can't physically retrieve his banner, and if the third squadmate can't get it either then the only option is the replicator. But now those are often just as far away as the deathbox. Is Respawn trying to drive quitting? I'm sure they would tell you they had other reasons for killing replicators, but here's the result nonetheless: more quitting.
I'm not saying that repopulating the maps with replicators would solve the problem overnight, but it's yet another sign that the dev is making very narrow and poorly thought-out decisions with all manner of unintended consequences. And I'd rather see them get their head out of their butt than have a penalty in an unranked mode.
And let's say you do get the penalty tomorrow. In my experience squadmates who want to leave, but are "forced" to stay, don't usually have a lot to contribute to the match at that point. Sometimes they even get spitefully counter productive. I would be lying if I said I'd never acted like a complete **bleep** when put in that situation. More unintended consequences. So be careful what you wish for.

I just noticed this change recently. Replicator resets was an overused mechanic, especially in Ranked. Before the changes players were leaving fights "prematurely" just to respawn their teammates. Players can't do this anymore in Ranked.
I think having more replicators is fine for Unranked but not Ranked. Y'all better shoot your gun and stop running from team fights. It's just a video game. Most times your team ends up being eliminated anyways. If I see a dropship, I'm directing my team to ambush you "immediately". Send your team back to the lobby to rethink your strategy, because that isn't it.
