YOU pick the hot drop, YOU get penalized for immediately DC'ing after the knock

There should be an automatic harsh penalty for the Jumpmaster who decides to do the really hot drops and then also immediately DC's right after being knocked without even giving their squadmates a chance.

Like the 10 minute unable to join a match penalty.  Maybe even an account ban after a dozen times (with a warning getting close, like the last 3).

@Unitee01 "Yeah, I think there will come a time, and I think it's pretty close, where extraction/pvpve would become the new thing."
    Titanfall 2
That game is still strong, why would they take players away from that and put them here? It's one of their own games.
You're talking about, or similar to, Attrition and Bounty Hunt from Titanfall 2. Maybe a few other Gamemodes as well.
  • @Zulkiers No I wasn't referring to Apex. I'm talking about the battle royale genre. It's been predicted that it's past it's prime and that we are likely to see extraction type shooters like Tarkov for example become more popular as the br genre declines.

@Unitee01 Ah, ok. Then they could get overloaded for Titanfall 2. That'll be fun.
Guess they'd better start marketing it again. The store tab within it is dead at the moment.
  • I hate the hot droppers, i play because i want to win fair enough i cannot win every game but dropping into a hot zone because they watch the streamers do it then leaving straight away i do not understand it, it starting to ruin the game they drop in get a kill maybe 2 then get knocked down and leave because they run off on their own expecting everyone else to follow them not thinking that other teams are ambushing the other players and working together, so i agree EA should start penalising players who hot drop and leave straight away, whats the point of being able to respawn players either by grabbing their banners or crafting banners when they keep leaving i've won a few games by respawning in or respawning others but over the last year or so the hot droppers have been getting worse without consequences so they keep doing it EA need to sort it out.

    What should happen:

    • Leave before character selection, making team a man down - auto reported by AI to EA, 15 minute penalty
    • Leave midmatch - wait for others to leave as well, if full squad leaves then no penalty, if any stay then 5-10 minute penalty
      • Should also have a forgiveness thing sent to active players, and if they forgive then no penalty - used for when a person has to leave and gives a reason, and the players accept said reason, such as parent wants them off or they had to go to work. They should also type the reason in chat in case someone didn't hear them or devs look over the incident.
    • Leave while downed: 5 minute penalty
    • Leave while banner claimable: 2 minute penalty
    • Leave while banner being crafted or claimed: 5 minute penalty
    • Leave while respawning: 5-10 minute penalty
    • Leave while support (or anyone) can craft banner, expired: 2 minute penalty
    • No replicators in ring to craft: dev decision, probably remain no penalty
    • No respawn beacon in ring: dev decision, probably remain no penalty
    • Ally has MRB, but no respawn beacon in ring: A) show ally's MRB to spectating allies, B) since they can now see that ally has MRB penalize for leaving while claimed
      • May also occur if ally can see an MRB on the field or in a deathbox they are looting, for deathbox loot allow the spectating ally to see them looting the deathbox and claiming the MRB

Then again this post is about hotdrops, not quitters.

    So...

As for hotdroppers, people should have a vote system for hotdrop, middrop, or latedrop. The later drop takes priority. Absentee votes / non-votes don't count. If only one vote is cast and it's hotdrop, the jumpmaster can drop them immediately. Middrop is wait 1/3rd of the path and drop in the later 2/3rds of the path. Late drop is wait 2/3rds of the path, jump in the last 1/3rd or the path.

The vote should occur after character selection, and persist through jump for in case someone arrives late or doesn't decide until they see what the map and path are, so that they can still permit or prohibit hotdrop.

I tend to latedrop, but sometimes I'll hotdrop when no one else heads where I'm heading, such as to trials on Worlds Edge. But, if we start right over trials, I might latedrop over The Maude instead. Other maps I tend to latedrop. This line has nothing to do with it so I will just strike it through, but leave it in case others wish to see my POV.
