Guys, does anybody have this kind of issue with the game lately? I've been having 100% usage pretty much everywhere.. I've tested both dx 11 and 12.. This is on AMD's 24.3.1 driver.. Could there be some shader caching involved here? I have no clue why would game behave like this..
Yes, since the most recent update, my CPU usage has been 100% and the game laggy and stuttering. Have played for many years, never had a problem before
- There is one thing that I've done.. So I've seen some posts about nvidia shader cache option, that most of the people that play this game have disabled... AMD does not have that option in the radeon settings but it has registry files that could be modified.. Anyways I opened up regedit and went here:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000\UMD
- After that, I found out about ShaderCache and change it's value from 31 to 32.. (30 = off / 31 = AMD optimized / 32 = on)
- I've rebooted my system after that, and I no longer have 100% usage in menu.. There are less stutters but the game itself sometimes can peak up to 100% usage if frames are uncapped (+fps_max 0).. I've tested this on DX 12 cause it generally works better on my system..
- Hope I could help someone at least in some way who has this kind of issue, and this could be AMD's fault, but who knows..
