After joining laptop to domain (MS Active Directory) Apex Legends can't play
Hi,
We had this issue where user reported that they can't play Aplex Legends, but an play lots of other games. got blame for network, domain policy, Wi-Fi...
following test has been done.
1. set up brand new machine was able to play Apex Legends on company's different networks and home
2. join the laptop to Active Directory domain, rebooted machine, login with local account and immediately can't connect to game server but still can login to Origin.
3.wipe laptop re-install OS and Origin and ... still with "Unable to connect to EA Servers..."
4.use network monitoring tools to captures to compare a machine that can play Apex legends and the one that can't it seems that r5apex.exe will connect to proxy.novafusion.ea.com then connect to an Amazon server. but for domain joined machine (even after enjoined from domain) it is skipping to connect to proxy.novafusion.eac.com resulting in failed to connect to game.
4.tried steps 1 to 3 again with another machine and a vanilla Windows Active Directory domain with same result.
It seems like joining a machine to a domain trigger a rule that is set by EA and block/banned connection.
Please help.
