@Phantasm_7 napisał😇:A slight step up from that is the FX-4130 which is only $30, but it's up to you to pick obviously.
So.. you suggest to replace better processor (X6) with much worse (fx4100 series) and in addition pay for that .. and in order to play one game which is made on almost 10years old engine.
Dont you think thats really stupid? Even fx6000 series are not such powerfull in many cases as phenoms X6
Btw..as far as i know fx8 series dont have 8 cores they are not like phenoms. They have 4 cores + 4 threads
@Szybki_Mis No, I'm not suggesting people with an X6 upgrade to the worse FX4100 series. I'm suggesting that anyone with a low spec Phenom II does have a cheap upgrade option. If you are coming from an X6 I would expect the FX-8350 to be your only real viable option, which is why I went with that. I understand your confusion though.
As for the FX 8 series not being a true 8 core, here is the first explanation I found. "The AMD FX-8350 has 4 modules with 2 cores in each module. Each 2 cores in the module will share resources. Yes, there are 8 cores in total, but they are not separate, and are not hyper-threading."
So it is a true 8 core processor, however it is only 4 modules, meaning there is a bottleneck similar to a 4 core processor. It is still faster than my top of the line Phenom II X6 1100T was, even overclocked. So I can't really complain, other than about having to spend money in the first place.
