"An update is Required to play the game." Most of this month.

Every time I try to log into this game I get this message.  I stopped getting the stupid shader cache bug after restarting my PC.  But even after uninstalling and REinstalling Apex Legends and Origins, AND steam, AND restarting my computer,  to play Apex legends on steam, and restarting steam over and over, I still get the same screen.

I JUST now opened up the game and it worked fine.  October 20, 2021, 6:25pm East US.   I closed it, and tried it again.  And now I get the same screen.  I've had problems trying to get into apex since the beginning of the summer.   Steam does not display any downloads for apex and I have all of my games that are installed on automatic download.  One thing I notice is that Origins keeps opening up every time I try to play apex on steam.  Sometimes Apex won't open even though steam says it is playing.  I have to close steam to get apex to stop playing because it isn't even in the task manager.  I'd like to play this game, but it seems like Apex and Origins don't want me to.

  • Hey, @gattlingcombo can you try a clean boot to see if any programs are messing with APEX and turn off any overlay programs, such as Discord or Nvidia experience.

Can you add a Dxdiag so we can see what hardware and drivers you have?

Let me know if this works or not for you. 🙂
