Apex cross progression?

So I have a PlayStation account on apex where I have some cosmetics but I also have a steam account with cosmetics, if I connect them together will the cosmetics transfer with each other? I heard that the progression will favor the higher level account. But if my ps account is higher will my steam account cosmetics disappear since it’s lower level?
