Apex Legends - Cross platform play greyed out

I love Apex Legends and want to play with my friends. I have a new Xbox S and had a PS4 before which I still have but it has issues. When I first logged on I was able to send invites to my friends on PS4 and they accepted. Now I can't play with them and my "Cross platform play" in Apex legends settings is greyed out and cant be enabled or disabled. It shows my friends that I am online but no way for them to invite me. How can I fix this? I have tried power cycling the system, clearing the cache, and all of my Xbox settings are open and say they allow me to cross play. Please help!
