I'm afraid we are not able to make any changes to your account on the forums, including unlinking or re-linking Steam to another EA account.

You're correct that progress is stored on the EA account, so by linking Steam to a newer EA account rather than the original account from back in 2022 (based on your estimate) the progress has been lost. You'll need to contact support directly to see if they have any other options to help get that re-linked if you're unable to go through that process again currently.
