Apex Legends Can't change skin midgame

Why there's no option to change the skin of a weapon I picked up off a dead body. After all, I paid a lot of money for my skins to use em but most of the time I can't see them since I pick up the weapons I want off dead enemies. I shouldn't be forced to use other people's skins.

Please add this feature, your competition has it.
