Hello, I think I have a fix for it if you made your in-game character voice lines Japanese and everything else was in English the do the same method what you did to make the charecters to speak Japanese and it should fix it. Worked for me 🙂

Can you explain what you mean? Ive tried a lot of different things but nothing is working

Did you try forcing the game audio to run in a different language before this started happening?Yes i tried getting the ingame audio to be japanese and text to english, now when i try to play it english audio and english text it crashes, it only works if i have japanese text and audio now

It's still happening even if you edit the config files to run the game in English again?
Same issue here.. I've done all the research I can handle the past few days, Apex will still crash after the intro sequence with error:
Couldn't initialize sound.
Please make sure you have a sound playback device that is enabled and properly configured.

I am wildly irritated and very sad at the same time.. Apex is my main bonding time with my girlfriend ;(
