having the same problem on pc... can only see select.. no start or anything like that anyone find a fix on pc?!?! help
Same problem, Windows 10 PC, switching server didn't help.
Launch Apex, at Season 6 title screen hit Tab key, click on server in a different city. Didn't help. After clicking Continue button and arriving in lobby, the main button at lower left says SELECT instead of PLAY. Clicking SELECT button brings up the SELECT A GAME MODE screen. Choosing a mode (clicking on it) takes you back to the lobby where the main button still says SELECT.
Bummer, can't play.

Here's what worked for me on Windows 10 PC! I renamed several directories (folders) from cache to cashe. This basically makes Origin (or Apex?) reload/restore corrupted cache data.
1. Shut down Apex, and also Origin game launcher if it's running. (Some people just run Apex by itself, others use Origin game launcher to start Apex.)
2. Run a command prompt window at administrator level. (Click Windows button at lower left, type in "cmd", click option that says "Run As administrator".)
3. Type in a bunch of commands (or you can do this rename thing using File Explorer? But I'm old-school so these instructions are too):
3.1 cd "\Users\{your user name here}\AppData\Local\Origin\Origin"
3.2 rename cache cashe
3.3 cd "\Users\{your user name here}\AppData\Local\Origin\Origin\cashe\QtWebEngine\Default"
3.4 rename Cache Cashe
3.5 cd "\Users\{your user name here}\AppData\Local\Origin\Origin\QtWebEngine\Default\Application Cache"
3.6 rename Cache Cashe4. Launch Origin (if that's how you normally do it, otherwise skip this step)
5. Launch Apex, go past the title screen and into the lobby
6. You'll see SELECT again at the lower left, go in there and select your game mode and when you get back to the lobby the button should change to READY. Click it and play!
Probably just steps #3.1 and #3.2 would have worked? But I did all of the 3.x steps.
Note:
Application data gets stored in several different places in Windows 10, hopefully yours is like mine and it's all in \Users\{your user name here}\AppData\Local\Origin. Otherwise you'll need to find Origin's cache folders (directories) on your machine and rename them.If all those cache directories get restored, which they should, then you can probably go back and delete all the cashe/Cashe directories since they've been replaced.
@Mummay69 yes finally got it fixed after i shut down the game ran a repair let it sit for a bit then got back on was still stuck on select for a second but finally switched up and let me play !
OMG Someone please help with this suck with “Select game mode” and all the below options are locked!

i think its global (or only in europe idk) cause i got this like 30 mins ago
- @AtomicDustBunny I've tried this one, and still couldn't select any mode, but the active mode (selected when you load a game) was Firing Range, so basically i could hit ready and play training.
But no other mode could be selected - all of them are locked 🙂
