Apex Legends Game/Lobby music quiet
I've been playing Apex Legends since day 1 and never really had any audio issues other than bugs that have occurred throughout the seasons (a few footstep audio bugs every now and then too). However recently I've found that my music is really quiet I have all volumes set to 100% and everything is the perfect volume except for the music, I've never changed my volumes as I set it when I started playing and liked it like that, the music gets me hyped when I'm dropping in and I think each music pack is unique so I like to listen to them all. I can still hear the music in the lobby but it's not as loud as it used to be and depending on the music pack (Chaos Theory Pack for example) the music gets overpowered by the skydive audio so I can't actually hear the music when I'm dropping in. I've spent the last hour checking the config files and browsing the web for answers and different techniques and nothings worked for me so far. I even changed 'sound_num_speakers' to 8 for 7.1 surround sound (yes I applied this to my headset through sound settings) but that just made everything echo and sound really metallic, if that makes sense?
I use SteelSeries Arctis 5 as my headset and with that I get an Arctis Chat profile and an Arctis Game profile on my computer, I find the Chat profile to be better for audio and I have configured the headset to my liking through the SteelSeries Engine. I don't have this issue with any other games so I'd like to think it's not my headset but I'm open to suggestions on what I can do so I can listen to the music. Cheers 🙂
