@EA_Kentjust adding that i've resintalled the game and it hasn't helped. in fact, the game is totally unplayable at the moment. before, it would run fine for a few minutes or even a game before the disconnection started. now the game is a complete lag fest with congestion, prediction, and packet loss symbols all appearing, sometimes at the same time.
I played several different games for hours last night with no issue. Sad. I've put a lot of money into this game and have a season 8 battle pass bundle that I can't do anything with.

Which datacenter are you normally connecting to? Have you tried changing to any others to test and see if that makes a difference at all?

Hi, @EA_Kent
I wanted to check in with an update. For the first time ever, I experienced the disconnect phenomenon outside of Apex Legends. After a several days long examination of everything about my home network and PC, it's looking like a faulty female-to-female RJ45 connection within a wall plate is contributing to the problem. While I'm not yet 100% convinced that I've identified the culprit, I have been playing problem free Apex over the past two days after bypassing the wall plate. There must be something about Apex that sets it apart from other PC activities in terms of exacerbating whatever problem this faulty wall plate seems to be causing. I'll continue testing for a few days or even weeks then follow up. I appreciate your feedback this point.

Hey @Winterpai,
I appreciate you following up. Keep me updated on how it goes once you've had the chance to test it out.

Hopping into this thread. I've been having internet dropouts only while playing Apex. I wrote a Python script to confirm my suspicions:
import time import datetime import requests import psutil while True: try: res = requests.get('https://www.google.com') except Exception as e: print('cant connect??') if 'r5apex.exe' in (p.name() for p in psutil.process_iter()): print('Apex is running!!') else: print('Apex is NOT running...') print(datetime.datetime.now()) time.sleep(5)I've ran this for 24+ hours, (while watching videos, browsing, etc) and the only time it drops out is when I'm playing. During that time the internet through the house functions normally. I've attached my dxdiag file. I usually have Discord running on another monitor. I play through Steam.

I am having the exact same issue.
Following up: on console, the issue was with my Ps4 Pro and not with Apex itself.
For others with the same problem, my router uses the same SSID for the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands and automatically switches devices on the network between the two bands as needed. I believe the Ps4 was losing connection when the router tried to switch which band it was using. I disabled the smart network switch on the router and split the bands into two separate SSIDs (Eg Home and Home 5G) and connected my console to just the 5G network. Problem hasn't come back since then

Kent I can now confirm that my problem was a cabling issue within my LAN. Thanks for your patience and guidance. I guess in the end, I am thankful to Apex for helping me realize I had a problem.

Any update on this one? I haven't even got to the point of playing Apex. I try and launch and it resets my modem. I thought i was going mad but after 6 times in a row, with launching and playing other games between... it still happens. a QRG on how to fix this would be handy. thank you.

Have you double-checked to make sure there aren't any firmware updates available for your modem?

- 5 years ago@EA_Kent Yes I checked, and firmware is up to date.

When you have the chance would you mind sharing a DxDiag so we can take a look? For more information on how to pull one up check out the EA Help website. Once you have the text file please attach it to this thread.

I am also having this problem.
This is *only* occurring when I try to play Apex Legends. My boyfriend and I have both tried to login to Apex on Wifi (on 5ghz, 2ghz and smart switch) and using Ethernet. My router is completely fine, and then the moment it starts to connect into Apex (on boot), my router fully turns off.
I'm using the Huawei 5G CPE Pro router. (It's a 5G router - i.e. uses a SIM card, not fibre/broadband/etc).
I have a backup broadband internet on a different network, and when I connect to Apex on that network, it doesn't disconnect. So it is 100% a problem with my router, but I don't know what to do about it. It is completely up to date, has no firmware updates or anything. I've also opened all of the required Ports listed on the EA website specifically for Apex so I dont think its a port forwarding issue. There's something that's being sent through my router by Apex that it doesn't like haha. Do you have any guidance on how to fix this? Other than just contacting my ISP. Have you had any other people report problems using a 5G router? Or this router specifically. - EA_Kent5 years ago

Hi @notsolittlec,
Apologies for the late reply on this. I'm afraid I haven't heard about any issues with that particular model of router or 5G routers in general. If the router is shutting off entirely it could point toward a hardware issue. It might be best to try contacting the manufacturer directly to see if they have any insight on what could be causing it to power off.

Hello,
I had the same issue right after changing my IPS because i pluged and old RJ45 wire I had.
I read this thread and decided to use an other RJ wire and the problem is GONE !
The new RJ45 wire is a " straight " wire. Maybe ther other one was a " twisted " wire and it was the problem...
Hope it helps ! - 5 years ago
I just got a new laptop, and it 100% can run apex and I had it for like an hour yesterday running ok, but for some reason when I try to connect to Apex servers it shuts down all internet going to my laptop. And I know it’s not internet side here because I’m in dorms and everyone else is still fine. I can play all other online games. I’ve tried apex on steam and origin and still having the issue of it just cuts my internet. I was on discord with friends and it disconnects me until it kicks my out of the servers and then everything reconnects and EA says I’m not online when I can see that I am. It’s so weird. Any news on how to fix this bug?

Hey @rlxcsparky,
Do you have access to port forwarding, or is that managed by your dorm? If you have the ability to forward ports, can you check and make sure all the proper ports for Apex Legends are currently open? You can find more details on the recommended ports over at the EA Help website.
If you need more details on how to open the ports check out the Port Forward website. They have instructions for a pretty big list of different models of router/modem.

So I don’t believe it’s due to that and the only reason I say that is because I just got this new laptop because my old one was well old but it would play it here, so I got another one which broke but it still played apex great, but this laptop seems to shut off internet on my side. Only when I connect to Apex it shuts all incoming internet to my laptop.

Perfect, thanks!
Looking through the diagnostics section in the DxDiag I noticed a handful of Windows services appear to be crashing. When you have the chance could you try running the Windows System File Checker to see if it's able to find any issues?
You can find more info on how to run the Windows SFC over at the Microsoft Support website. Let me know how that goes once you've had the chance to give it a shot. Thanks again!

Hi Kent,
I'm having a similar problem as mentioned in this topic.
whenever I run a speedtest, I get about 140 Mbps consistent. (it does start slow but then goes up to 140 fast)
whenever I start apex I start lagging super bad or disconnect most of the times. most of the times my internet dies for a little while (only on my computer)
I have tried the things mentioned before but they don't seem to work...
