Apex Legends on Steam stuck at initial white screen , then game freezes

I have been playing Apex Legends on Steam for a while now, I recently have not played for a day, when I launch the game again I see that after it boots up |(the anti cheat screen comes up) it just stays in a white screen and doesn't go past that, after a few seconds it says that the app is not responding so I kill it, re launch and the same issue. 
I have re installed the game and the problem persists
