I know this might be necroing but it is the only thread that had all the search words when I was looking for answers at the forum.
Been able to run the game relatively smoothly despite having a budget setup (check my dxdiag if you wish to) until the December update, ever since my game stutter and drops in frames to the point of it being unplayable.
However, I recently bought new parts for my computer for other reasons (e.g, I needed some more juice for my animation work) that I'm going to switch out during the holidays. Upgrading from i5-4670K to Ryzen 5 3600 along with a new MB and more RAM. The reason I wanted to post here is to come back later and provide an update to confirm whether this upgrade helped me or not – so others who might stumble upon this thread could get a definite answer, since my guess is that not everyone sits upon a beast of a computer.
@Anomaly-ravenI also occasionally notice black flicker spots but they're so brief it doesnt bother me.Literally a micro a second.
As for performance.I do feel the patch on the 3rd of Dec def messed with the performance.I have a somewhat beefy pc and notice the framepacing of the game is worst then before.I tend to notice this stuff because I'm playing at 120-144fps and I have a knack for noticing EVERYTHING.Reducing the settings to all medium somewhat helps but I can still bits of the environment jitter/shake occasionally when turning the camera at certain speeds.It's subtle so many ppl might not notice this.
As for stutter I don't generally get it on apex much.Occasional micro stutter from lag maybe every 3 games or so but nothing major.I've heard it could also be related to the patch from the 3rd of DEC as I've seen multiple posts with very similar issues after it came out.
Rig:1080ti/9900k/3200mhz 16gb ram/970 evo SSD on a 1080p 144hz monitor.
As for high cpu usage.I do occasionally see certain cores pushing 90%+ occasionally.Then sometimes they suddenly equalize the load to more cores then it goes too 2 cores with high loads and repeat and etc...
