My CPU is the same as an i5, I can play any game, I also play overwatch on high with 80fps...
And if was because of the CPU at least it could give me an error or something like that.

Will be any way to play the game without the need of buying a new pc? I can't just swap the processor because of the board...
POPCNT isn't necessary at all to run any game, EA could just remove that restricition, it's just an absurd that people with average computers won't play the game.

There was an update and it finally implemented an error message.
I got: CPU does not have POPCNT!
I run a q8400...thats it, seems like no Apex for us, who run old CPUs.POPCNT was implemented for Intel CPUs with the first i5/7 processors in 2008 (Nahalem structure).
The wiki article about it (chapter 3.3): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSE4
It´s a bit of a shame, my CPU is from Q2 2009 but it just has the wrong microstructure :/
I bet POPCNT is just needed for the Anti cheat, the game itself dosn´t care at all about it :D

Probably no.
Same thing happened with Quantum Break. Processors without POPCNT couldnt play it.
There is a way to use Intel SDE to play Quantum Break, I tried it with Apex but it doesnt work
It cant work because of easycheat engine it detects Intel SDE and doesnt let Apex start.
It goes to "Debugger has been detected. Please unload it and try again."
Game over guys ☹️ Not good news if they added the message for unsupported CPU
- otraMx7 years agoNot applicableSo i needed to reinstall my PC for the game to launch. I bet there are some files that are corrupted and that is the reason for the game not to launch...
