Apex vpn

Today I downloaded NordVPN and played apex. No problems. Then I disabled VPN and suddenly apex and ea app doesnt connect as if i had no internet connection. Now I can connect ONLY when the VPN is enabled. 

How do I fix this? I dont want to be constantly connected to a VPN to play. Why does this happen?
