Launch Xbox One X here and still have that problem.
I hoped to find a solution here, because I'm getting really thrown off by this bug.

Community AdminHi, if you're encountering this, can I check if you have the game installed to an SSD or the default HDD for the console.
We have found that in some cases where the game was on some SSDs the audio issues were more likely to appear.
HDD on Xbox one
Ps4 user here, mine is installed on the default hdd, no external drive, or upgraded version just the one in console when store bought.
Still experiencing it no matter any attempts I've made. Ever since day 1.

Experiencing the exact same issue on my original Xbox One. I'm using the default HDD as well. Often happens mid gun fight, seems more common with multiple squads in a small area. The issues vary, but normally I can still hear the character voices and sounds of breaking armor (on enemy players).
This game is excellent, this issue however is ruining the fun when you are shot from behind with no audio cues. I hope you can solve it for us. Thanks.
- Currently still experiencing this sound bug despite being told the upcoming patch would fix it (told to me week(s) prior to the tuesday patch) I sincerely hope this gets fixed soon as i have faced this issue since day 1 of the game.
