Can I use an unlinked psn acc for cross progression

i have two psn accounts from wich one of them is linked to an ea account and one isnt. I want to use the progression from the unlinked psn account with the ea account that is linked to the other psn account. Will it work to just unlink the already linked psn account and reaplace it with the unlinked psn account, or will the progress not be transfered or even be lost?
