Cant add crossplay friends

I am on ps4 and am trying to add an xbox player but when i search it is "not found" and when he searches it is found and an invite is sent but i dont receive it. If anyone knows how to fix it can u p...

I have checked his EA account and its not child and his xbox account isnt either.
