On origin I had similiar issues all the time... an example is muting your randoms but it would never actually mute them but as soon as I reset origin’s cache everything worked like it was supposed to
Anyways I would try resetting the cache, im not sure how to do it on steam, PS5, or whatever the new Xbox is called

I also had problems this season with muting people in steam and them not actually being muted. I assume this is somehow connected.
