Can't see or join friends from other platforms

Hello

I'm starting a new thread since the other one with the same issue is marked as solved but the solution does not work for me.

I can't see my friends from other platforms (I play on Xbox while my friends are on pc) therefore I can't join them to play together. 

Removing them as EA friends and then adding them back does not solve the issue. They dont even receive my friend request. 

What can I try?
