Characters won't move

I bought this controller from gamestop a couple of months ago and its brand new never been used so I know its not my controller. I don't know why but, it doesn't seem to matter what character I choose from in apex legends, the character doesn't want to turn when I use my right joy stick. In a fight they will freeze up an just stand there. Making it to where I die automatically with one shot instead of several. Idk if you guys have constant glitches that are just spread out on both maps but I've never had this issue before. Honestly I haven't been playing as religiously as I use to because of this odd issue that just started maybe 2 weeks ago. Please fix this because I really love playing this game but not if any time I get into a fight I freeze up. Thanks!

    Do you have another controller to test with? Something being new doesn't mean there won't be a problem, and sometimes items get shipped without catching issues. I also wonder, does this happen if you try it in the firing range or only in a match?

    If the issue persists with a different controller, it might be a strange connection issue. If you record your gameplay a clip of this happening might help as it would have the relevant network status indicators, if that's a factor.
