Connection to server timed out (code: net) + (code:leaf)

Heyo,

So I have an issue with connecting to Apex Legends recently, and it's been impacting my time on playing the game. I used to never have any connection issues with the game, but now I'm getting all of these code:net errors that keep popping up.

I can open up the game, and I get the error, before i even get to the menu. When I want to join a game, sometimes it times it for 1-2 minutes, before it gives me the same code:net error. This has also happened when I just want to join the training range. I've reinstalled the game, verified the integrity of the files, restarted modem, but it keeps happening.

Sometimes, it works fine, and I can open the game, but some days, I can't join at all, taking me numerous times to restart the game through closing the game through task manager, and reopening and taking ages for it to start up.

This has never happened before, and has only started recently (about a week ago). I'm really unsure on why this error keeps happening, since it's frustrating me to no avail considering this has never happened before.

Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

EDIT: I've also now experienced a code:leaf which again, I've never gotten before. Along with adding that even after trying to rejoin following the errors, it will tell me reservation timed out. I just keep getting these connections and it's infuriating.

  • Hey @EA_Atic, so I tried the link you gave me on the connective guide. I find that there are 4 hosts that have high ping times, most being unknown hosts and one for an unknown host that I'm unaware of. My packet loss, ping time and the difference on best/worst ping times for several of the hosts are normal. Only the 4 stated are abnormal.

I've gotten a new error message with the new event that was released today, now under "Connection to server timed out (code:net) Sigon: New." This occurred when I was on the title screen and tried logging into the game, and that error message was given.

I've also tried using the ea.com/unable-to-connect link but that hasn't given me much leverage on solving the issue.

Surprisingly for some reason, someone told me that a solution to this issue is that when queuing up for a game, I enter the friends menu and stay on that screen until I load into the game. From what I found, I usually always get into a game when using this method, so I don't know why this is happening now, since I have never gotten this issue before, and now have to use this weird technique to avoid not joining a match.

EDIT: This is on Steam, I did login onto Origin and I got that Sigon error at the title screen.

  • Just an update, but I feel this is ridiculous.

I just had a session of playing Apex ranked, where in numerous occasions, I have been unable to join the game, and even though I "connected", I never was able to rejoin the game, and hence got hit with a huge negative abandon loss. For about 30-60 minutes, I could only play 2 games, kept getting code:cloud, code: signon new, repeatedly. This season has been the worst for my experience where I have been unable to play any enjoyable games consistently due to all these errors. I want to know a proper resolution's to this error as it's making me really dislike playing the game due to the huge amount of connection issues with the game.
