Cross Progression for Steam and Xbox After the 26th

Hello,

I so am super excited for c progression, as I am currently on PC but have many rare cosmetics on my old Xbox account that I would love to be able to access on my computer. A day or two ago, (after October 26th) I unlinked my Steam and Xbox account from my EA account (not part of the issue), but was able to re-link it through EA support (I do have access to my Steam and Xbox accounts as of right now, I did not lose my accounts or get anything set to level 1). Because c progression is only available to accounts linked before the 26th, I was wondering if I would still have access to c progression? Or since because they were previously linked before the 26th it wouldn't matter at all.

I have also seen some information about c progression and "master accounts", and how the account with the higher level becomes the master account. Firstly, I was wondering if my cosmetics, badges, and levels would get merged (what gets merged and what doesn't). Secondly, since my Xbox account has the higher level and would become the master account, can I only play on Xbox? Or can I play on PC as well (I would rather play on PC)?

I also have one final question, my Xbox and Steam are under the same EA account. Is cross progression about merging EA accounts, or merging linked accounts under EA accounts? I am relatively confused, but I am just praying I will still be able merge my Xbox and Steam accounts that are under the same EA account.

  • Hey @exe-alloy!

I would take a look through the Cross Progression blog and our FAQ here when you get a chance, as they go into a bit more detail on some of these points.

As a quick breakdown, Cross Progression allows you to access all your (non-platform exclusive) content with any platform connected to that same EA account. Separate EA accounts cannot be merged.

As long as both of the PC and Xbox accounts you mentioned were linked to the same EA account before the 26th and they were not moved from a different EA account, the progress from both that PC and Xbox account will be merged to your linked EA account.

From there, you'll have access to your content on both Xbox and PC, as well as any other platforms you add in the future as long as it's linked to the same EA account.

Cosmetics are merged with the exception of platform exclusives, however some badges may not be merged. The blog will go into a bit more detail on what you can expect to see there.

Your situation is slightly different, as it sounds like you've moved your Xbox account from the EA account it was originally on. Since the progress is stored on your EA account and not the Xbox account, you won't have any progress from the Xbox account merged to the EA account that has your Steam profile.
