Discord Overlay causing Greyed screen

What happens when the bug occurs? Upon starting the game with the Overlay, the game initially loads to select continue to join the game. Once it passes that stage, it becomes fully grey, but the sound keeps playing. You will then enter the screen still greyed out and you can select options, though it's hard to see. It has been tested that it is possible to join the game, but the screen will be greyed out, making it impossible to play anyway.
What should be happening instead? The Discord overlay should still work, showing who is talking in chat.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Launch Discord and enable the overlay for Apex Legends. Launch Apex Legends, and enter the game. At the menu, the bug will occur. (I use Discord Canary, an alpha version of Discord but I have never gotten this issue before)
The only additional info is that the Discord Version I use is Discord Canary, but I have used Discord Canary numerous times before and this has never happened.
