I got my PC nearly 6 months ago. Since I've played close to 2,000 hours. I played multiple hours a day. Randomly 2 days ago I started getting DXGI errors. Both the 0005 and the 0006. I verified/repaired Apex on both Steam and Origin. I un-installed and re-installed Apex on both launchers. Ran both launchers as admin upon launch. Back dated the driver and re updated to the newest update. I used a display driver uninstaller while in safe mode with no ethernet connection then did a clean install of the newest driver again. None of those worked so just in case I tried to full factory reset my pc wiping absolutely everything. I had to re download everything and every program was fully up to date. Even after that still Apex gave me the same errors. I've spent like 10 hours working on this with no success. I'm on a Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super.

Hey @Ginger_PC, I can understand the feeling. I've been into PC gaming for years, so I know how frustrating it can be to deal with issues like this. If your friend is on the exact same setup and he isn't having any issues, it may come down to a hardware problem. It might be best to reach out to the manufacturer of your GPU and see if they have any suggestions or recommendations. They may be able to perform some tests as well that could help narrow down what's causing this to happen. /Kent

Which driver version are you currently running? Would you mind posting a DxDiag when you've got the chance? You can find more details on how to grab one over at the EA Help site. Once you have the text file please attach it to this thread.

@EA_Kent Not OP, but having the same issue too.
Solutions that I have tried so far that did not work:
1. Remove GPU with DDU and reinstall from NVIDIA's official website.
2. Underlock GPU and CPU
3. Launch game from Steam or Origin
4. Cap FPS to below screen refresh rate and turned off VSync
5. Reduce graphics quality
6. Reinstalled the game
7. Adding TdrLevel and TdrDelay to registry
8. Adding apex executable to antivirus exclusion list
9. Launching as administrator
10. Updating BIOS
11. Going into NVIDIA Control Panel and trying Debug Mode
12. Rolling back drivers to older versions

0x887A0006 - DXGI_ERROR_Device_Hung the application's device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is an design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed.

Weirdly this started mid game. i had been on the same driver for over a month and no new settings were changed what so ever. It started the night before the patch. I'm on a GeForce RTX 2060.
Will all of this be fixed with the new update on the 9th?
Ive used DDU uninstaller in safe mode then downloaded every driver from 417.71 to 461.72 all with clean installs.
ive done everything myself and 2 friends who have worked on computers for 10 years could think of. they both worked in the BestBuy tech department doing diagnostics and repairs.

Thanks for the information! You've definitely run through some pretty extensive troubleshooting leading up to this. @Ginger_PC I know you mentioned you already reinstalled Windows, but there is something else I'd like to test to see if it helps.

What happens if you try launching Apex Legends through a different Admin user in Windows? For more information on how to set up a new Admin user account check out the Microsoft Support website. Once you've had the chance to set one up try launching Apex Legends and see if you're still running into the same DXGI errors. Let me know how it goes when you can. Thanks!

@EA_Kent updated the game. tried in admin mode in both Steam and in Origin. got the same dxgi A0006 errror code. so confused I already had like 300 games this season for this happened mid game. there was no change whatsoever.

so i set up a secondary windows profile and ran the application on the same account on both stream and origin. no fix as of yet,

Thanks for giving that a shot!

I know this is outside of the norm for the usual troubleshooting, but do you have an old GPU stashed away? If so, I'd be curious to see if this same issue happens with a different video card installed. Obviously that's a bit of an ordeal, and I'd really only recommend it if you're comfortable giving it a shot.

If you're comfortable with that it's something that might be worth a try to test and see if the same issue still happens.

No old gpu. Been running this exact pc for nearly 6 months. During those 6 months I've practically only played apex. My buddy is on the exact same pre built pc and is on the same driver as well as driver update. So why me not him? Why me not everyone? How are you guys gonna fix this for me?

Who can you put me in contact with to get this fixed as soon as possible? I've tried every I could think of. That friends who's specialized in computers could think of. Everything I could find online. All the previous drivers. Factory resetting pc. Everything you have contributed. Listen Apex is like my only happy place after getting medically retired out of the military. I don't get to go anywhere. Mainly my friends are just the ones I play apex with. I can't work since the military. I just need this fixed. It sounds stupid but it's the only thing I can really do to make me happy anymore.
