Enemy shields not showing during spectating

I've had multiple games where I died to enemies after doing massive damage (+115, no shield breaking sounds or markers, just all white/yellow).

When spectating the teammates of enemies that I've done damage to, It shows up as them having no shields an still loads of health (see picture below). 

It shows both the Lifeline and Pathfinder without shields, but in game they were both using shield chargers, just like the Pathfinder is right now.

I'm putting this in technical issues because I don't know if this is something on my end, if it's just a bug in general or if this is an exploit cheaters are using to take loads more damage. This is also the reason I've covered their names before I call them out on something they didn't do.
